School Accountability Study: Research Participants Needed
Would you like to contribute to research which aims to help shape the future of school accountability?
School performance measures and ‘league tables’ were first introduced 30 years ago. Along with Ofsted, they form a central element of the English school accountability system today. This project is investigating the use, effectiveness and effects of secondary school performance measures in England. It also aims to suggest new approaches to school accountability which are responsible, fair and more fit for purpose.
We are looking for volunteers to discuss issues related to secondary school performance measures in England. Volunteers will also be invited to take part in a series of sessions in which new, alternative approaches to secondary school performance measures will be developed.
We are looking for:
- Teachers
- Researchers
- Policy Makers
- School Leaders
- School Governors
- Parents/carers of children in years 5 or 6 of primary school
- Parents/carers of secondary age children
Each participant will be asked to be involved in:
- One initial group discussion session*
- Three separate development sessions* in which alternative approaches will be developed
Location:
- It is expected that sessions will be online
